Sintra – Castelo do los Mouros

We catch a bus up to the castle. Way up! Apparently you can do the climb on foot. But why?!? Technology is great, love buses! A funicular train would be awesome too.
A pretty park and info centre on the archeology digs going on around the site. Beautiful!

Along our way we pass an older couple (yes older than us!) who hand us entrance tickets, they ran out if time! Was a nice bonus to the day!
Inside, you head to the right and start climbing stairs, and after some starts and stops (mine, not David’s, to catch breath, rest the weary feet) you are on the ramparts of the castle. At the top of the mountain!

We scramble over stairs, along narrow pathways and up tower lookouts.

That last picture above is what we climbed over! There is more, but I am done! David carries on and I stay and take pictures of the views and inner courtyard

A gorgeous site, but we have to get back out to the road and catch the bus down.

A couple of final photo ops

Then back into Sintra to catch a train.

This is when we discover that the first station we went to was only a block over and was open! We lost a couple of hours, but in the end we took a path unknown and enjoyed the views!

Great end to our visit to the beautiful Lisboa!
